Exciting Opportunity: Free Places Available at BBCF Boys Choir Summer School
We're thrilled to share news of an incredible opportunity for young men in our community. The Black British Classical Foundation (BBCF) is offering a limited number of FREE places at their Boys Choir Summer School this summer.
What's on Offer?
This fantastic programme is designed specifically for young men of colour aged 9-17, and here's the brilliant bit - no previous singing experience is necessary! Whether your child has never sung a note or has been humming along to the radio since he could walk, he's welcome to join.
The summer school runs from Monday, 28th July to Friday, 9th August 2025, from 1 pm to 4pm at Holy Innocent Church, located on Selhurst Road in London (SE25 6XX). It's perfectly timed to give young people something engaging and enriching to do during the summer holidays.
Why This Matters
Music education, particularly choral singing, offers tremendous benefits for young people. It builds confidence, develops discipline, creates lasting friendships, and provides an excellent outlet for creativity. The BBCF's focus on supporting young men of colour in classical music is significant, helping to break down barriers and create opportunities in an area where representation has historically been limited.
The programme is supported by the Kerslake Robshaw Foundation, ensuring high-quality instruction and a professional learning environment.
How to Apply
If you know a young man who might be interested in this opportunity, don't hesitate to get in touch. With only a limited number of free places available, it's advisable to apply soon.
