About the event

As part of International Women's Day 2021, we are delighted to be offering you a chance to take part in an online interactive session to develop the confidence and skills to promote yourself effectively.

The theme this year is for #ChooseToChallenge

A challenged world is an alert world and from challenge comes change.  So, let's all choose to challenge.

How will you help forge a gender-equal world?  Celebrate women's achievement. Raise awareness against bias. Take action for equality.  Together you are welcome to attend this session to celebrate International women’s day (IDW 2021 ) on    Monday 8th March 2021  @ 7 pm - 8.30 pm  Online  Please make sure you are ready to join at least 10 minutes before the workshop starts.

Pen & Paper Ready in a quiet environment. In this interactive session, you will participate in group discussions and exercises to develop the confidence and skills to promote yourself effectively.  During the 90 min #IamRemarkable workshop run on Zoom we will:  Share data and research regarding self-promotion and unconscious bias  Go through the main exercise to help you articulate your achievements and practice self-promotion  Have a discussion and share take-home exercises  It’s not bragging if it’s based on facts

FAQs  Who is the workshop for?  Many of us struggle when it comes to talking about our own accomplishments. Cultural and gender modesty norms, as well as impostor syndrome, can prevent anyone from acknowledging their remarkable attributes and expressing their achievements.  Each person has a lived experience of being underrepresented in some ways and even if you don't feel that this is the case for you the session is an excellent way to gain insights into other people's challenges.

As you build your career and/or your own business you will need to be aware of your duty of care towards others as well as other's duty of care towards you.

In the UK there are 9 protected characteristics within the 2010 Equality Act  Age  Disability  Gender reassignment  Marriage and civil partnership  Pregnancy and maternity  Race  Religion or belief  Sex  Sexual orientation

We encourage open discussion in the online workshop about issues linked to the above topics covered.
