Key Stage 3 - Year 8

Age of students: 12 - 13 years
Year 8 students are encouraged to concentrate and work to the best of their ability to reach their full potential.

English (Aims and objectives)

To support the National Curriculum, focussing on speaking, listening, reading and writing. Students are supported to achieve an awareness of history by using resources which reflect their cultural background.

Maths (Aims and objectives)

To follow the National Curriculum to ensure topics are challenging so it is made easier when they study in their mainstream school.

Expectations

All students are encouraged to respect others and have a positive attitude to learning. Students are also encouraged to be independent learners to achieve their highest potential.

Fun and enjoyment

Group work is encouraged to give students the ability to work as part of a group, valuing contributions of all members of the group. Topics encompass every day life experiences as a tangible way of reinforcing study techniques for students to enjoy.
