Key Stage 3 - Year 7

Age of students: 11 - 12 years
Year 7 students are encouraged to work hard at their own level and to fulfil their own potential. All students are assessed to find out their level of attainment using school reports and individual assessment.

English (Aims and objectives)

To follow the National Curriculum, focussing on Key Stage 3 and supporting the students in speaking, listening, writing and comprehension.

Maths (Aims and objectives)

To follow the National Curriculum for Key Stage 3 building on Maths targets in Key Stages 1 and 2. Encouragement of students to carry out problem solving, algebra, fractions, calculations, brackets and percentages.

Expectations

Students are expected to behave well and have a positive attitude to learning.

Fun and enjoyment

Learning through ICT, team work, group work, individual learning and discussions as well as guest speakers. Resources are used to reflect students’ cultural background.
