Key Stage 2 - Year 5

Age of students: 9 - 10 years
In Year 5 students have open discussions – ensuring students are not afraid to share ideas or ask for help when needed. A good grounding is provided for the transition to Year 6.

English (Aims and objectives)

Students are supported in the learning they receive from their mainstream school. Concepts are reinforced, students work towards learning targets. Support is given to students in their areas of development, strengths and weaknesses are identified.

Maths (Aims and objectives)

Students’ individual needs are supported whilst focusing on problem solving, using and applying techniques to encourage skills and knowledge.

Expectations

All students are expected to work hard to achieve, believe in themselves and arrive at Saturday School with a positive attitude to learning.

Fun and enjoyment

Our class ethos is learning is fun. We work as a team and support each other.
