Another topic or issue that affects our society today are the presence of gangs. The "so solid crew", "blazing squad" and "D-12" are three examples of gang-sters portrayed and appraised in the media. Gangs can also form automatically when a group of friends hang out together all the time. "Figured prominently" are 'gangs' in Britain for the last 200 years. One strong fact is that the youth gang culture align themselves with a certain music genre, even a religious background, like the "South Muslim School(SMS)". Gangs always seem to strive to be the best by battling other gangs, "graffing" their names on walls even though that is labelled as illegal, carrying weapons to protect themselves and the like.
Names like "Teddy Boy's", "Mods", "Rockers", "Rock Steady Crew", "Skinheads", "Punks", "The Yardies", "(SMS)", "Ku Klux Clan", "National Front (NF's)" are examples of the ever-increasing dangerous gangs in our society today, the less dangerous ones probably being "the Scooby Gang", name of the 5 mystery solving chatracters of the cartoon "Scooby Doo". It has even been stated as a fact that George Bush is part of a gang secret society called "Skull and Bones".
Most gangs are seen to be youth, that engage in battles like in 1890, when "more than 500 youths were engaged in pitch battles on Newton Heath." People in danger of gang attact also join gangs for the benefit of protection, because the youth are learning to be self-dependent instead of relying on the police, who they can't trust.
Therefore, here we have a recent established law that gives cops the right to seperate any gang activity in public places, probably having the intention that further practice will rid the nation of gangs developing into a more dangerous body.
